David Patrick Bitterman was born November 12, 1941 in Davenport, a son of Charles and Ethel (Glaudel) Bitterman. He married Patricia K. Korch on May 4, 1963 at St. Joseph’s Church. David worked at the former Robin Hood Flour until it closed in 1975. He then worked at Donut Land and later Alcoa, retiring in 2004 after 26 years. David was a proud member of Steel Workers Local 105 and Our Lady of Victory Church.

His hobbies were spending time in his workshop building things and working in his yard. David was heavily involved in his kid’s education by coaching, wrestling club, helping in classrooms and the first of its kind, creative playground at Harrison School, which was acknowledged with the 1983 Friend of Education Award from the Iowa State Education Association.
Memorials may be made to Genesis Hospice and Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church.
