Funeral services and Mass of Christian Burial for Alyce M. Timmerman, 92, of Davenport, will be 10:30 AM Monday, August 30, 2021 at Holy Family Catholic Church, Davenport. Burial will be in Mount Calvary Cemetery, Davenport. Visitation will be Sunday from 1 to 3 PM at the Halligan-McCabe-DeVries Funeral Home with the Rosary recited at 3 PM to conclude the visitation. There will be additional visitation Monday at church from 10 AM until the Mass time.
Mrs. Timmerman died Monday, August 23, 2021 at Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House, Bettendorf surrounded by her family.
Alyce Marie Van Camp was born March 30, 1929 in Davenport, a daughter of Charles and Agnes (O’Neill) Van Camp. She was united in marriage to Gerald L. Timmerman on October 14, 1950 at Saint Alphonsus Catholic Church, Davenport. He preceded her in death on October 29, 2007 after 57 years of marriage and memories together.
Alyce began work at Brenton Bank on November 15, 1965 as a part-time employee and worked her way up to branch manager and later assistant vice president. She retired in 1992 after 35 years of service.
She enjoyed volunteering with Genesis VNA Hospice and was deeply supportive of her husband Deacon Jerry’s ministry.
She enjoyed bowling and was part of a ladies and mixed leagues, bowling sometimes three nights a week when she was younger.
Memorials may be made to Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House.
Alyce is survived by her two daughters: Judith L. (Gary) Allen and Christine G. Nolan and Jim Corbett, all of Davenport; grandchildren: Michael (Jennifer) Allen, Jamie (Craig) Winter, Beth Ann (David) Earthman, Scott (Heather) Ryan, Stephany (Paul) Fletcher, and Colin (Emily) Nolan; great-grandchildren: Garus, Jace, Lincoln, Gibson, Lily, Sullivan, Eli, Stella, and Piper, a brother, Mike Van Camp of California, a sister-in-law Marian Van Camp, Davenport brother-in-law Richard Timmerman and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents and siblings Mary Liguori Dixon and Charles Van Camp and a sister-in-law Sue Van Camp. May they rest in peace
