Funeral services to celebrate the life of Anthony C. “Tony” Constantino, 55, a resident of Buffalo, will be 12:00 p.m. Friday, January 11, 2013 at Halligan McCabe DeVries Funeral Home, downtown Davenport. Burial will take place at the National Cemetery, Rock Island Arsenal with military honors. Visitation will be Friday from 10:00 until Noon at the funeral home. Tony died Tuesday, January 8, 2013 at University of Iowa Hospital following a courageous battle with cancer.
Anthony Cruz Constantino was born on May 12, 1957 in Chicago, Illinois, a son of Alfonso and Adella (Martinez) Constantino. He proudly served our country in the Army. Tony was united in marriage to Karen Mock on August 16, 1997 at Duck Creek Park, Davenport.
Tony worked for Oscar Mayer for the past 23 years, beginning in 1990. He had a tremendous work ethic and continued to work until his illness. He was a member of Local 431.
Tony enjoyed riding his Harley on our local streets and all over the county, and would participate in local fundraisers that involved riding.
Memorials may be made to the family to establish a memorial at a later date.
Tony is survived by his wife, Karen, Buffalo; children: Mary (Jodi) Geigle, Rock Island, Derrick Constantino, Ft. Hood, TX, Carlos (Paula) Constantino, Davenport, Kelli (Amit) Kumar, Davenport, Anthony (Johanna) Constantino, Milan, and Marcus (Kristine) Constantino, Rock Island; twelve grandchildren; his mother, Adella Martinez, Davenport; siblings: Linda (Chuck) Qualman, Clinton, Irma Constantino, Davenport, Hope (Mike) Constantino, Davenport, Ann (Joe) Smith, Davenport, Benny Constantino, Rock Island, Angela (Frank) Herrera, Davenport, and Rosa (Roy) Kuhrt.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Alfonso Constantino, Jr., a great-granddaughter, Ellashawnee Cottrell; and his grandmother, Esperanza Martinez. May they rest in peace.
